GMO (genetically modified organism) are organisms who by genetic engineering techniques have their genetic materials changed. These organisms may include micro-organisms like yeast and bacteria; they can also include living organisms such as plants, insects, fish and even many forms of mammals. GMOs are basically the source of genetically modified food products that are mainly used to produce food and many other food products.
Now the question arises what is non GMO? There have been quite a lot of both health and environmental issues and risks with these genetically modified (GM) products and food due to which a lot of people across the globe in locations like the United States, Canada, across Europe and even in Japan demand that products and food which are non-genetically modified should be produced as Non GMOs.
Founded in 2007 a non-profit organization was made whose main aim was to provide non genetically modified organisms (Non GMOs) products within the market of United States and Canada. This organization is known as the Non GMO project.
So how can one avoid these genetically modified (GM) products and food?
